Internships with VWBTrack of the Tiger T.R.D. (Tourism Resources Development) with its diverse range of products and niche markets, and its progressive approach to tourism development provides an excellent environment for those studying many different areas of tourism, to accumulate hands on ‘front line’ experience over a short space of time. The VWB Initiative in particular, with its unique approach to volunteer driven private sector/community based ecotourism development provides excellent opportunities for those who would like to work in and/or study this area of tourism. We at VWB believe that sustainable and equitable ecotourism, biodiversity protection, poverty alleviation, community based tourism and minimal impact agroforestry are interdependent. We are certain that the effective management of that ‘product mix’ for and by the stakeholders is the key to the survival of each. Internships options We have a number of vacancies for non paid interns every year. This normally covers up to two foreigners, and for two Thai nationals. Preference is given to those who have special skills that will help us move forward – (scientific, conservation planning, community development, tourism related, photography, marketing, outdoor education etc.). In some cases, meals and accommodation are provided free of charge, although for budget reasons we prefer to have interns find sponsors for their flights, meals, accommodation and transport.
